MAGICAL MOMENTS!!

The North Carolina Foster and Adoptive Parent Association Annual Educational Institute is searching for  presenters who can train, inspire and educate all the while being fascinating to our parent audience attention---Magic!
The 2010 NCFAPA Annual Educational Conference, "Magical Moments" 
will be held in Charlotte, North Carolina the weekend of April 23rd - 25th, 2010.

This Institute is designed to provide quality training for new and experienced foster, adoptive, and kinship parents, and service providers.

NCFAPA is looking for the best presenters in all of PresenterLand! We  have narrowed the competition and......You have received this invitation because we know you have an informative, educational presentation that will awaken participants to the opportunity to learn new skills to help ensure permanency, safety and well being for children and families touched by foster care.

We encourage you to submit a proposal for workshops that will help participants learn in-depth information and advanced skills in your topic area. Proposals able to tie their topic area to the many magical moments that happen in homes and lives that are fortunate enough to be able to nurture children will be strongly considered.

Invitation to Present

 This call for presenters is directed toward foster, adoptive and kinship parents, agencies,mental health
providers, community partners and all stakeholders in child welfare to:

·          Design innovative, experiential, outcome driven opportunities for participants.

·          Provide extensive and comprehensive information to strengthen existing competencies and/or teach new skills. Allow structure time for participant Question/Answer session.

·          Connect topic area to Magical Moments (we have all seen amazing flashes and how a moment can transform a life) innovations, best practice to excite our foster, kinship & adoptive parents.

·          We invite proposals for:  
3.0 Hour Workshops   (Friday)
2.0 Hour Workshops  (Saturday)
1.5 Hour Workshops   (Sunday)

 

Workshop Selection Criteria

Proposals will be rated on the quality of format, originality, clarity, cultural competency, compliance to submission guidelines, relevance to target audience and connection to Institute theme of Magical Moments (connecting, that aha! moment, new ideas & strategies, etc.).

Guidelines For Submission

Proposals must include the following:

·          Response Form (see next page).

·          A 25-50 word description of the workshop to be advertised in the Institute Registration brochure.

·          An abstract of presentation to include: a brief summary of the content, presentation format, outline of learning objectives and the target audience.

 

The Fine Print: Time donated to NCFAPA, a 501(c)(3) organization, is eligible to be deducted on your taxes as an in-kind donation . The primary presenter is responsible for communicating to co-presenters and for the accuracy of the data in proposal (spelling, description, etc.). Only the primary presenter will receive communication about their proposal. The primary presenter will receive a complimentary registration. All other expenses are the responsibility of the presenters. Thank you for helping us to strengthen the skills of parents in NC.
