Conference Award Nomination Letter

Dear Friends,

The North Carolina Foster and Adoptive Parent Association’s 12^th Annual Conference, Magical Moments will be held April 23-25, 2010. This event will be at the Renaissance Suites Hotel in Charlotte, North Carolina.

We would like to honor those who have shown exemplary dedication and commitment in helping to create magical moments to transform lives through the challenges and triumphs of caring for our children and families. We are asking anyone from all regions to submit nominations for a foster family or an adoptive family.

We are proud to provide you with this opportunity to honor and recognize these special individuals who are beyond exemplary in areas such as:

-Nurturing relationships with children;

-Participating in shared parenting and independent living activities;

-Perseverance in advocating for children; and

-Promoting unity within the agency and community involvement.

A committee of the NCFAPA’s Board of Directors will review the nominations and present one award for a foster family and one award for an adoptive family. These statewide winners will be announced at the April 24 Dinner and recognized in the spring issue of Fostering Perspectives.

Guidelines for submitting nominations:

• Nominees must be current members of the North Carolina Foster and Adoptive Parent Association
• All nominations must be submitted online at www.ncfapa.org by March 19, 2010
• Please limit your nomination text to 175 words maximum
• Please include a JPG picture of your nominee with the nominating form
• NCFAPA does not have funds for conference stipends. When possible, all nominators are encouraged to work with their agency or community to facilitate the nominees attending the conference. This involves covering travel, hotel and membership fees. Benefits for family attendance include: training hours toward licensure, information, and support.
